These questions sometimes help me notice something that I
wasnt seeing about dream:
What are my emotions during the dream, what am I feeling or
not feeling, and how are these emotions familiar?
What is the action of the dream pointing to; what does the
action say needs to be done?
What does the dream say I am avoiding; what is not being
said or done?
Where is the power in the dream; what is controlling?
What is missing. inthe dream; what would ordinarily be
there that is not?
From where or what is a threat coming?
Does the dream stop short of something happening - what
conclusion do I fantasize?
In what way does the dream say I frustrate myself; what
comes in to thwart or change the course of action?
What is the mood (setting) of the dream, and how is my
life like this mood?

As tempting as it may be to over complicate it, try to avoid doing so. Just grab your journal, maybe your favorite beverage, take a deep breath, and just let it flow, whether it be words or doodles that appear on the paper. Let the mind wander around the quote, and just follow wherever it may lead. Use the quote once or come back to it often and see how the journey changes.
