This month's journaling prompt comes from an old, old, favorite book of poetry called I Touch the Earth, the Earth Touches Me by Hugh Prather. If you ever attended one of my yoga classes (a whole other lifetime ago) I shared excerpts from his book all the time. His writings read as passing thoughts quickly jotted down in an effort not to forget them, perfect (at least in my opinion) for jump starting a mind stuck and unsure where to begin in the journey of journaling.
And now that I come to think of it, I may have also shared a few excerpts from him over the years that I have been sending this newsletter, so hopefully this one is not a repeat.
So, make your favorite drink, grab your journal and pen, pencil or other favorite writing tool, and settle into that comfy chair:
My day has become a fraction happier ever since I realized
that nothing is exactly the way I would like it be.
This is simply the way life is - and there goes one battle
I don't have to fight any more.
Today I heard an old woman say, "Whatever I worry about is
not worth worrying about."
I'm glad I heard that.

And remember, as tempting as it may be to over complicate it, try to avoid doing so. Just take a deep breath, and just let it flow, whether it be words or doodles that appear on the paper. Let the mind wander around the quote, and just follow wherever it may lead. Use the quote once or come back to it often and see how the journey changes.
